Year 6 have recently been learning about World War II and delving into what life as an evacuee would have been like!
The class welcomed a very special guest, Mr Guthrie's grandma, who explained her experiences of evacuation as a young girl via video. The group were fascinated to hear about her life and how the war had impacted her as a child. It inspired some of the class to find out about their own relatives and their involvement during the war.
Mia said "My great grandfather fought in the war and we have medals in the house which belong to him."
James added "It was great listening to Mr Guthrie's grandma. It makes the war come to life because she actually lived through it!"
